Eastern Hemlock trees have a special place in my heart. Walking through a Hemlock forest is like walking into a quiet auditorium that has been created by time itself. Because they do not easily bounce back from disturbances, recreating a mature wild Hemlock forest is not currently part of our ecosystem, so having the ability to visit these trees is very special. They are ancient giants who deserve our respect and compassion, which is why I wanted to create this pen and ink illustration dedicated to the beautiful Eastern Hemlock.
